EXPERIENCED DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR
Main duties include but are not limited to:
-Design of the data storage hardware infrastructure, optimizing and tuning systems for OLTP performance, and query analysis and profiling;
-Ensure availability and integrity of data;
-Work with developers to understand applications and operational system parameters and contribute to engineering designs;
-Designing applications with developers to ensure optimal use of data storage systems;
-Use, define, and enforce best-practices in data management based upon standard industry practices;
-Provide hands on day-to-day maintenance and backups;
-Oversee replication and synchronization processes.
Requirements:
-5+ years of solid MS SQL Server database administration and development experience;
-Expert knowledge of RDBMS concepts including query and data model optimization covering indexing, bitmaps, query plans, data file organization, etc.;
-Solid experience working with extra large databases;
-Hands on experience in installing, configuring, managing, monitoring and troubleshooting SQL Server 2005/08;
-Extensive experience with SQL Server and T-SQL in constructing triggers, tables, user functions, views, indexes, user profiles, relational database models, data dictionaries, and data integrity;
-Solid hands-on experience and outstanding knowledge of high availability SQL Server solutions, including Log shipping, Replication and SQL Server clustering;
-Fluent English language.
