WINTEL ENGINEER,
based in Vilnius, Lithuania

The position of Wintel Engineer is responsible for developing and delivering wintel infrastructure for customers and providing an expert technical point of contact for vendors, architects, and developers, contributing to overall wintel system infrastructure design and integration.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide in-depth knowledge of platform software technologies or families of technologies.
• Work with the global teams to ensure the appropriate specification of the infrastructure required for development.
• Liaise with architects, project personnel, and other technology experts to design and deploy robust and supportable wintel infrastructure deployments.
• Ensure the effective management and deployment of controls and risk mitigation strategies enterprise-wide for wintel solutions.
• Perform technical evaluation of new hardware and platform software products to assess their suitability for deployment in the production environment.
• Create, document, and oversee wintel infrastructure deployment standards for hardware and platform software.
• Install and configure hardware software products to agreed infrastructure standards, providing supporting documentation and effective handover to production operations.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Required knowledge:
Server: Windows Server 2000, 2003, 2008 setup, configuration, maintanace;
Cielnt: Windows 7, Windos XP, Windows Vista, Windows 2000, Windows 98, Windows NT;
Support: Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007, Operations Manager 2007, Machine Manager 2008, Data Protection Manager 2007;
Active directory: understanding of site component topology, forest operations and topology, the Active Directory distributed file system, etc.
• Preferable knowledge:
Virtualization: HyperV, Vmware technologies
Citrix infrastructure: XenAPP, VDI, gateways

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
• Strong analytic ability especially the ability to look at complex technical landscapes and recommend key business focused solutions.
• Capability to work in partnership with architecture to scope and understand the client’s requirements.
• Quality of mind that is strongly motivated and shows initiative to ‘get the job done’.
• Fluency in English.
• Team player and customer service driven.
